Scope and Overview
Build Crew partnered with Rubix Studios to achieve several key goals. They wanted to expand their brand recognition and reach new clients within their target regions of Brisbane, Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Additionally, they aimed to generate genuine interest in their services and maximise the return on investment for their marketing efforts. Finally, seamlessly integrating Ascora’s Field Service Management (FSM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software into their existing workflow was crucial for improved efficiency.
Evaluation
Rubix Studios comprehensively evaluated its online presence to address Build Crew’s objectives. This included thoroughly assessing their website hosted on Squarespace and the hosting environment. A key aspect of the evaluation was determining the suitability of the Squarespace platform for optimal Ascora integration. We also aimed to identify weaknesses in the website’s functionality, user experience (UX) issues and inconsistencies with Build Crew’s brand message.
Key Findings
Our initial examination revealed several key findings. The Squarespace platform, while user-friendly, might have limitations for functionalities as complex as advanced Ascora integration. Additionally, the website lacked substantial content to engage the target audience effectively and showcase Build Crew’s expertise in home modifications and repairs. Furthermore, a clear and detailed breakdown of their services was missing, including new builds, renovations, insurance repairs and make-safe works. Finally, inconsistencies in the user interface (UI) were identified, potentially hindering potential clients’ overall user experience (UX).
Audience and Accessibility
Build Crew recognised participants in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and individuals with disabilities as their core target audience. However, the website lacked accessibility features, such as appropriate font styles, sizes, and colour contrast ratios. This omission could significantly hinder accessibility for this important segment of their target audience.

Limited website data and cost considerations prompted a strategic migration to WordPress. While the existing Squarespace website contained minimal usable data, a cost analysis revealed significant long-term savings associated with a platform switch. WordPress offered greater design flexibility and functional capabilities compared to Squarespace.
Our development process leveraged industry-leading plugins to optimize performance and functionality. Elementor facilitated a user-friendly design interface, while Crocoblock further enhanced design and layout options. RankMath assisted with on-page Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and WP Rocket ensured website speed and performance. Our custom-developed Ascora plugin also ensured seamless integration with Build Crew’s chosen business management software.
The website design prioritised user experience (UX), accessibility and brand consistency. Leveraging Build Crew’s existing black, white, and grey colour scheme with complementary shades, we crafted a modern and user-friendly interface. Accessibility best practices were incorporated to ensure inclusivity for all users. Clear navigation, consistent layout and well-planned user experience contributed to a positive user journey.
Marketing and Conversions
